June Fairhead

June Fairhead (neé Pollock) holds a DFA from Kingsway College, London (1994) and a BA (hons) from the Crawford College of Art and Design (2011). June is of Irish origin but spent all of her twenties in New Zealand, eventually making it her home. She has never lost her ties with Ireland however, with her work being largely about the distance between the Northern and Southern hemispheres, and how in the age of air-travel and technology we can now communicate in a way that gives new definition to the spaces we occupy. The idea that the clouds we see in one hemisphere can drift to another hemisphere, without boundaries or borders is just one of notions Fairhead likes to play on in her art.
