Artwork - "Wahine Disaster montage series
This series is a representation of the location of the Wahine disaster and the effect of cyclone Giselle in 1968.
It is both a map and section through the space between Aotearoa, the Cook Strait. The angle intersecting each print references the tension between the two islands and the irregular topography that creates one of the most dangerous and unpredictable waters in the world. The space that claimed 51 lives. |
