Penny Stotter

Penny Stotter graduated from Ilam School of Fine Arts in 1995, majoring in graphic design. In 2006 she won the inaugural Estuary Artworks Award which was the catalyst in her moving to Waiheke to pursue a career as a full time artist. She has also been a finalist in the New Zealand Best Awards and New York Festivals awards. Stotter's work in the graphic design industry has played a large part in her current style of work. She uses an interesting mix of new technology and traditional methods in creating her screen prints which are influenced by her environment and 'found' objects. Her latest collection of prints centers around the life of Rua, her junk shop doll. It is a fun and whimisical collection that she started to draw for her nieces.
