June Fairhead

June Fairhead (neƩ Pollock) holds a Diploma in Fine Art from Kingsway College, London, (1994) and a BA Hons. Degree from the Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork (2011). Of Irish origin, June spent all of her twenties in New Zealand, a place she made deep friendships and where she made her home. She has never lost her ties there and her work is about the distance between the Northern and Southern hemispheres, how in the age of air-travel and technology, we can now communicate in a way that gives new definition to the spaces we occupy. The idea that the clouds we see in one hemisphere can drift to another hemisphere, without boundaries or borders is just one of notions I like to play with.
